New Gadgets!

I've got some new gadgets, and will write in detail about them soon. First of all, let me tell you what they are:

1) Sony Vaio VGN-S270B laptop

Sony Vaio Closed Sony Vaio Open

I got this from my new job. It is one beautiful machine. The specs of this baby are:
  • 1.6GHz Intel Penitum M (Centrino)
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 40 GB HDD
  • CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
  • 802.11 b/g
  • Light weight (4 pounds / 1.8 kgs)

2) Linksys WRT54G WiFi Router + Acces Point + Switch

Linksys WRT54G

I got this because I have one internet connection which I use with my desktop PC, and now that I have a laptop (wifi-enabled) and a PDA2k (also wifi-enabled) I need to use internet on these devices too. Also it was very cumbersome to always take out the LAN cable from my desktop and fit it into my laptop whenever I wanted to do any work on the laptop. So I planned to buy a wifi router. After reading the reviews over the net, I bought this one because it is cheap, and also because it is open source, so that 3rd party firmwares are available for it. By the way, I have an interesting story about this which I will write later.

3) BlueTrek G2 Bluetooth Headset

This I bought because of the cellphone-snatching situation in Karachi. I could not afford to keep my PDA2k out in the open while driving my car, and also did not want to answer it out in full view while on an open road. So now I keep the G2 in my pocket, and when a call comes in, I quickly attend it, and put the G2 back in my pocket once I hang up.

I've finally gotten a job at AMZ Access, so will be very busy and so on. How's life treating you?

  • We engagedand outsourced to AMZ Access one of Pakistans biggest software companies. Only to be ripped off and find that the countries legal system, judiciary and even their industry associations PSEB are willing to stand by. Shame on you all - it cost us tens of thousands - DO NOT INVEST IN PK.
